About Us
Blank Slate Creamery opened in 2014 in Ann Arbor as a family owned business. Our goal is to make deliciously creamy, all-natural ice cream with ingredients you recognize. We make our ice cream mix and most of our inclusions from scratch. We’re known for our unusual flavors as well as the more traditional. We not only encourage creativity in our flavors, but also on the chalk boards in our shop. So, be sure to have a taste of something new and pick up some chalk to play a game, draw a picture or solve a mathematical equation!
When we first opened we ran out of ice cream in three days and were closed for a week to produce more! We were both elated at the community support and stressed to have to close for a few days, but it’s now part of our story. We continue to write our story by expanding our production capabilities and by opening a new location in Brighton in the spring of 2020. Come be a part of our adventure, we hope you’ll love the ice cream as much as we do!!
Blank Slate Creamery is always happy to provide donations to support local charities and businesses. If you would like to request a donation from Blank Slate, please fill out this form and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

FAQ's
What ingredients are in your ice cream?
We use milk, cream, eggs and cane sugar to make our ice creams. Depending on the flavor, other natural ingredients are added.
Where does your Dairy come from?
We use fresh milk and cream from Guernsey Farms Dairy. We have selected Guernsey because they use pure cream, with no additives. Their dairy cows are also hormone free.
What does all-natural mean?
We pay attention to the ingredients in everything we serve. Where possible, we select ingredients that do not include unnecessary additives like preservatives, artificial colors, stabilizers and emulsifiers.

Can you accommodate people with allergies?
At Blank Slate Creamery, we make our ice cream in a facility that handles many common allergens, including milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and other ingredients that may trigger allergic reactions.
We take precautions during production and service to help minimize cross-contact; however, we cannot guarantee that any product is completely free of allergens. The risk of cross-contact in our dipping cabinets is significant because scoops and containers are used in close proximity.
Please do not request samples or taste any flavors if you have a food allergy.
If you have an allergy, please let our staff know before ordering. When possible, we will provide your ice cream using a clean scoop and, if available, will serve it from an unopened tub. Even with these precautions, the risk of cross-contact cannot be eliminated.
Customers with severe allergies should use their own judgment and consult with their healthcare provider regarding the safety of consuming our products.
Please talk with our staff to determine your comfort level with regard to cross-contamination procedures.
